Little Beakers

Does your little one love science? Explore foundational science concepts with games, storytimes, and new experiments each class.

 

Little Beakers science programs nurture preschoolers' natural curiosity, build critical thinking skills, and develop a life long love of learning.

​

These biweekly science programs are designed for 3-5 year olds with a parent or caregiver. Registration is $15 per child and their caregiver per class, includes all day admission to the museum. 

Members receive $10 off registration. Additional children are $5 each.

Jan. 7th: 10am-11:30am Little Beakers: Bubbling Volcanoes

Become a scientist with the first of a new series of preschool science programs. We’ll discover the incredible power of volcanoes with an interactive storytime, dive into the magma with hands-on sensory play, get silly with a “floor is lava game,” and conclude by erupting our own bubbling volcano experiment.

Jan. 21st: 10am-11:30am Little Beakers: Magnet Magic

Discover the miraculous magic of magnets invisible yet powerful forces. This engaging hands-on science program allows preschoolers to discover how magnets are all around us. Make magnets float, push, pull, and create your own magic magnet drawing toy.

Feb. 4th: 10am-11:30am Little Beakers: Builders Blast

Become an engineer, an architect, or a mechanic! Preschoolers will be inspired with an interactive building themed storytime. Then explore gravity, chain reactions, and laws of motion with hands-on building stations.

Feb 18th: 10am-11:30am Little Beakers: Lift Off! 

Take off into outer space with a rocket themed science class for preschoolers!  We’ll explore the science of flight with hands-on engaging experiments. This class includes an intergalactic storytime, stomp rockets, pop rockets, and a chance to launch your astronaut through the museum's new Flight Lab wind tunnel.

March 4th: 10am-11:30am Little Beakers: Rainbow Towers

This week Little Beakers are exploring the science of chemistry with a unique experiment that uses density to create rainbow tower test tubes which each child can take home. Plus we’ll enjoy sensory experiment stations that will use all our senses to discover new science!

March 18th: 10am-11:30am Little Beakers: Polymer Play

Discover molecular magic for preschoolers! This week’s experiments have us learning chemistry through play and experimentation. We’ll make our own edible slime and create swirling rainbow colors with magic moving milk.
